I bought a minecraft server service from them for 5 months until my own failure to attract players had me close my server. I enjoyed how smooth customer service goes on their discord. Also when I upgraded a few times trying to meet the RAM ceiling for my server's mods (which I personally underestimated and should of tested beforehand), they allowed me a nudge of extra RAM to make sure everything ran correctly. I thought that was cool. They seem to operate out of the Midwest so that's a bonus to not being a silicone valley doomed startup. Everyone is active on their discord where they also do their tickets. As cheap as I am the pricing is as good as it's gonna get for this sort of service. I will warn though, make sure to cancel properly when you are done with services, it seems paypal will still think you wanna pay them and will send payment still this is on paypal's end, you might have to stop it on paypal too.

I was in trouble and the support helped me out at the speed of light, by the way, I took the 12GB offer and it easily fits with 77 mods!

winter node has an amazing customer support team, the speed with which they help solve problems or crashes is the best I've ever seen, as well as the service they provide, thanks to them I can go to my minecraft server without fear of crashes

Reboot times are great, customer service sucks, memory management sucks. Let me explain. My server is mostly for family and close friends, as such they tend to explore...alot. Due to the horrible backend my server constantly gets out of memory errors and eventually crashes. I have NEVER had this happen with ANY other host I have used. Tried customer service and got the response that narrows down to - "well it's your fault for not "optimizing" your server"...really??? Are you friggin serious?? No attempt to research the problem, wouldn't even listen to my testing procedures or the fact I have never had this issue before. I feel I have paid a year for a service that is unsuitable for use at all. PS...I can run my server on a pc with a weak CPU and 4 gigs of ram with ZERO issues whatsoever.

First things first, thank you for your review. We appreciate any and all feedback about our service and look forward to working with you to improve your WinterNode experience. There's a few things to go over here. (1) Not all servers will run the same in different environments. We're not just launching MinecraftServer.exe on Windows and calling it a day; our systems are highly secured and each server operates in an individual Docker container. This comes with some overhead, so we provide extra RAM free of charge for most of our plans so you can get the most out of your server. (2) Recent versions of Minecraft use significantly more resources than previous versions, primarily due to new world generation techniques and features. Hosts across the industry are recommending 4+GB RAM for public-facing servers these days. (3) Server optimization is a huge factor in ensuring that your Minecraft server runs its best. We could have the best hardware on the planet (and we are extremely competitive even against far higher-priced hosting providers), and a poorly optimized server could bring that hardware to its knees. It's why we pride ourselves on our extensive help desk articles and guides on HOW to optimize your server. (4) I find it very difficult to believe that a member of our staff would dismiss your issues so easily. As you can see from many, many other reviews, we take pride in our customer service. I am interested in reviewing your past tickets and outreach for support to ensure we are providing the best quality of service that we can. Please reach out to me on Discord (Wyatt on WinterNode's Discord server) and I'll be happy to look into the issues further for you.

I was a fluctis customer. I guess they got bought by winternode. My minecraft server was shut down as expected from fluctis, several weeks later winternode alerted me that they had started a server in my name. Support was incredibly unhelpful. Apparently there is no way to delete your winternode account. Brandon refuses to do so for me. This process of removing myself from a service I did not want is far to complicated and stressful. I do not recommend winternode to anyone. Edit: since I can’t seem to reply, my fluctis service was shut down weeks ago. I was never informed of when/if migration would happen. I only received an email AFTER winternode had created an account and server for me. You’re right, you don’t deserve one star. You deserve less. I repeatedly asked for my account to be deleted and was ignored.

Hello, As is entirely standard practice during an acquisition and transfer, we moved all then-active accounts and services over to WinterNode. To the best of our records, you still had active time left on your Fluctis service, therefore we weren't simply going to shut you out of any data that you needed to get or time left on your service. We do not feel this warrants a one star rating of our service, nor do we feel that it is in any way a fair criticism. It is our company policy to not allow full deletion of accounts for both accounting and legal reasons, but we can process a shutdown or deactivation of your account if requested. Edit to respond to your edit: We have clearly communicated with Fluctis customers throughout the transition process. This included multiple announcement emails, announcements in the client areas, on social media... virtually every platform we could share this information on within the scope of reality. We then sent out notices to customers who would be transferred. We cannot and will not delete your account. As we very clearly mentioned, it is a legal and accounting requirement. We can, however, permanently deactivate it upon request.

The first great thing about WinterNode is that they offer you a free trial server to check is the service is for you. The support on their discord is really quick to respond and they helped me a ton when I thought I've lost my server files. The prices are very much reasonable and I've had no problems with my server's performance.
