My husband had life insurance through this company. He passed away early June of this year. I notified them of his death a few days later (3). I had to make 7 calls to follow up with claims and to date have not received my check. The "customer service" is awful. No return calls, no communication unless I called to ask status. To be fair, their reps are pleasant, but the runaround is especially frustrating to a new widow! Do better!! I reached my 5th representative this morning and was told " the check is in the mail"! I asked for email confirmation and was told she can't do that!

I just received notification that my monthly premium will increase by over $20 more a month starting in July. I am on social security and every penny counts. This insurance has now become unaffordable for me. When I first enrolled in this dental insurance I was under the impression that my monthly premium will not increase. I am very disappointed in this company and I will not recommend them due to this issue.

We issued written notice advising of a premium increase as part of a statewide rate change. This policy provides benefits for covered dental services and allows for premium changes based on overall claims experience. While we understand rate increases may be frustrating, you were not singled out, as this change applied across all policies of this form and class in this state.

Dental insurance would not cover my crown. Their dental reviewer said the crown was not indicated for coverage. The Dental practice I use lectures worldwide and writes textbooks. Clearly, the reviewers they use are going to favor the insurance company and not the patient. Very disappointing. Coverage for out of Network routine dental care is paid at a very minimal rate. This insurance is not worth the value.

For over 120 years, Physicians Mutual has focused on taking great care of customers earning us a 95% Customer Satisfaction Rating. We are sorry to hear we have not met your expectations. To address your specific claim concerns, we will need to work with you directly for privacy reasons. However, an explanation of general insurance operations may help address a few of your questions. Our Dental policies do not restrict customers to a network. However, we highly recommend network providers to be considered and used as customers realize an average savings of 36% in the billed amount when doing so. This limits your out of pocket expenses. However, Physicians Mutual pays up to the amount shown in the schedule of benefits whether you choose a network provider or not. If you feel we have made a mistake on the processing of a claim or have other questions, please call us.

Find another insurance company. They are absolutely horrible. My mother died April 21st. I'm still trying to get my payout.

My experience with physicians mutual, was right on time, my father passed, and physicians mutual was honest enough to say I was the beneficiary and I did not have a policy, to know that, it required consistency and having all my documentation, that was requested by the insurance company, which I had you must know all information that they ask in order for them to move forward, which is very understandable!!! stay updated so everyone is on one Accord and the process will go through smooth, they did not break their promise, they delivered!!!!!! Everyone situation is different be patient be consistent have all the documentation I give them five stars!¡!!!¡!!😊😊😊

The vision insurance is a scam called yes we accept VSP get to location not this type of VSP so call then no out of there group plan where on the page it said any VSP location but I am limited to where i can go and I need weekends not one of the 5 they sent are open on weekends . Walmart is a VSP provider but they want you do go to the more expensive locations and pay 300 to 400 Dollars for glasses . Can not wait to try the Dental and see what it covers or does not.

Just horrible... a real scam! Went to an IN-NETWORK DENTIST and over 1/2 of the Services were FULLY DENIED. There are all sorts of restrictions in the voluminous FINE PRINT. CAVEAT EMPTOR! Totally a fraud! Basic Preventative Services ARE NOT COVERED 100% as they advertise. My "FREE EXAM AND X-RAYS" WERE NOT FREE!!! I was charged $200/for each. And forget about replacing ANY MISSING TEETH. I was informed that NOTHING WOULD BE COVERED IF A TOOTH WAS MISSING BEFORE THIS INSURANCE TOOK EFFECT. I've paid over 2 years on this policy. They are a dishonest company
