Applied for long term disability insurance just to protect my PRN income for a while until I could consider full retirement. After being completely transparent about my health and providing every piece of PI imaginable, was told my premium would be twice what was quoted in the beginning. Just fyi, I recently was approved for a 10 year, 250k life policy by a very reputable insurer for almost the same cost. To all potential applicants, be prepared for a long and frustrating process with this company. Good luck!

I don't why NYL has good rating. It was almost impossible for me to leave a message to my claim manager, so I decided to email her. She became so angry when I did that. She told me that she set the phone answering system to not taking any massage when she is busy. I guess that email leaves a trace.
