The pillow was promoted as being based on German technology, but it appears to be manufactured in China. While there is nothing inherently wrong with a product being made in China, the issue is whether the marketing creates a misleading impression about its origin or technology. Considering the pillow is sold at a premium price, the packaging is also disappointing, as it looks more like a low-cost OEM product than a premium health and wellness product. What concerns me most is the marketing approach. If consumers are led to believe something that is not accurate, it is dishonest and misleading. When it involves a health-related product, companies have an even greater responsibility to market the product truthfully and ethically. Consumers should be able to make their purchasing decisions based on accurate information, not misleading claims or an artificially created premium image.
