I was the victim of a fake, false, and fraudulent review by an unnamed, unidentified, anonymous source or person on June 24, 2026. It was a hoax. Naturally, I contacted AVVO about it, and they promptly took it down. AVVO representative, Luis Gonzalez, was very helpful, courteous, and professional.

Their customer response was fast. They solved my issue with one email.

I had my 1st need for customer service when a disgrunted opponent in a bankruptcy case posted (as a client) a libelous statement, which was the only review at less than 5 stars. Brett jumped right on it, read the review and agreed that it did noit qualify as a client review. It was taken down within minutes. Thank you

I contacted M-H about an emblem for my firm. The representative quickly confirmed that the 2026 emblem was available. He immediately forwarded me three sizes that I could use, along with the coordinates for my SEO company to post it on my website. The entire transaction took 3 minutes. I couldn't be happier or more pleased.

I was astounded by the responsiveness of the customer service. Someone had given me a bad review simply because she talked to my receptionist who said I wasn't taking new clients. She said that my Avvo profile should say I wasn't taking new clients. (But the standard options don't let me put that on my profile). She also falsely claimed she had consulted with me. As soon as I had emailed them about it, Avvo customer service immediately removed the false review and then went the extra step and offered to manually put a note on my profile that says I'm not taking new clients, which was wonderful and is exactly what I wanted.

I received a response from Luis Gonzales, a Customer Support Representative with Martindale-Avvo, within mere days of my abuse report confirming that an investigation was conducted and that the review in question was properly removed from my profile. There can be very detrimental consequences when potential clients come across any poor review of an attorney’s services, especially when a review is fabricated with intent to damage the attorney’s reputation. Any amount of time such a review remains on a public profile presents an increasing risk of losing business, as I have personally experienced. Therefore, I am incredibly grateful for Luis’s swift and decisive action in response to my report, which was grounded in a neutral application of the site’s Terms of Use to the circumstances. I am overall very pleased with my reporting experience and even more so with my interaction with Luis as he carefully handled my situation.
