We are sorry to hear that this person has issues with our hosting service. We would like to look into the issues, but we cannot find the author of this review, nor the person named in the review, in our customer database. We are sorry that this customer feels cheated. The customer signed up for a special 30 day free hosting offer and was never charged for the hosting fees. However, the customer opted to register a new domain name. Any addons to the hosting plan are paid services. Unfortunately, domain names are non-refundable due to domain registrar policies. The customer still owns the domain name so they are free to use the domain for email and/or website at any other service or they can sell the domain as well.

We are sorry to hear that the Basic Plan did not work for the customer. We have three other plans to choose from. We also list all the features of every plan on our website and our sales team is available to answer any questions. We also have a 30 day money back guarantee so there is no risk to testing us out - if it doesn't work out, then customers will not lose any money. Our team is also available to help migrate sites as well at no cost. We did search our helpdesk and found no tickets related to this reviewer. If our hosting was truly useless, then we would not be in business for so many years and we would not be getting the other great reviews we receive here.

We're sorry to hear this customer is not satisfied. We understand being frustrated with hosting issues. We've been in business for 15 yrs. If everything here were true, we wouldn't be in business today and not have all the other great reviews. A. We offer Shared Hosting (many websites per server). For stable hosting for ALL customers, we place constraints (like memory). We list this on our site and the customer freely chose their plan. B. For stable hosting, we do everything we can to avoid abuse. This includes placing soft storage limits. If the soft limit is reached, we can review the usage. Our hosting is not designed for 30+ TB media archive. No shared host will allow this. C. For email stability we suspend email service when there are spammy patterns. If email is suspended, we work with the customer to resolve the issue. D. If the Shared plans are not right for a use case, we offer other alternatives that are more suitable. It's up to the customer if they want to go that route. We wish the customer the best in their search for a hosting provider.

We are sorry to hear that our customer lost their credit card. Before suspending accounts, the customer is emailed. Customers can access their Control Panel and update the credit card information themselves without having to contact us. If the customer cannot access the control panel, then there is a Forgot Password system or they can contact our billing department. We are here to help and there are multiple ways to contact us. First, all customers have access to the helpdesk to open up a ticket with the billing department. If this cannot be done, they can email us directly. The email address is listed on our Support Page on our website. There is a link to the Support page on every page of our website. And also, there is a contact form on our website - https://www.winhost.com/contact.aspx We also have a Forum where the customer could make a public post about the situation. We understand customers can get frustrated due to this situation, but there are many ways available to contact us.

I'm sorry to hear that you are so unhappy with the hosting services. If there was any issue, you could always contact us and we are here to help. As far as I can see, there has been no helpdesk tickets submitted since you started your account with us in 2014. If you had contacted us, I can assure you that we would have provided high quality services that many customers experience.

Hi Alek, it sounds like you would benefit from a dedicated or managed SQL server, which isn't something we offer at the moment, I'm afraid. Shared hosting isn't really meant for large database applications (and a 5+GB database is still large, even these days). For what it's worth, we do not claim or imply that database space is unlimited. MS SQL database servers are very expensive to spin up and maintain (look up the Microsoft SPLA licensing fees, you'll be surprised), so we would never lead anyone to believe that they could - or should try to - host an extremely large database at Winhost. That's not really what the platform was built to do. Sorry if there was any misunderstanding there. I tried to look up your support history, but we don't have anyone named Alek Fej in the customer database, so I can't comment on any support responses you may have received.

Hello Matthew. Sorry you had trouble with the latest site that you set up a few days ago. I see you've had two sites up and running on Winhost for almost six months now with no issues. In looking at the ticket history it seems that multiple members of our support staff tried to help you with the problem related to your latest site, but you've closed all of those tickets. We'll be happy to continue to try to help you overcome your problems if you want to re-open any of the tickets. That's what we're here for. For what it's worth, our data center and all of our staff - including technical support staff - are located in the Los Angeles area, where basements are rather uncommon.
