zero star! They can't cancel the order after 20 minutes of placing it.. they said they need 3 business days to cancel it but never happened and then WD ship it anyway .. horrible support service and still didn't got my refund !

I returned a faulty HDD that was just within warranty. My RMA was updated to say the item had been received on 22 September 2021. In the 3 months and 28 days since the item was received by WD my RMA status still says Received / Processing. I have contacted WD by email numerous times but the replies have contained the usual varied excuses, and absolutely nothing has been done to assist me. I did receive a reply to one email where the support agent offered to send a replacement that was a different colour to my original, I replied within minutes confirming that this was acceptable - then silence. I sent a follow up email some weeks later, the same agent replied with no acknowledgment of his previous offer and a flimsy apology with no offer of further assistance. I will never, ever buy another Western Digital product based on this terrible experience.

Ich war Jahrelang großer Freund von WD HDDs, nie Probleme gehabt. Nun 2022 habe ich ein Problem mit einer Platte welche noch Garantie hat. NAS PRO HDD, um erstmal weiter zu kommen während des Reperaturprozesses bestellte ich zwei "normale" NAS HDDs. Eine HDD war bei Lieferung defekt, die 2. HDD lief und wurde im NAS konfiguriert mit der in Konfiguration /dev/sdx missing, also als Einzelplatte um später die neue Platte zu Syncronisieren. Nach ein paar Tagen Betrieb erreicht die Platte keine 10MB/s Übertragungsgeschwindigkeit mehr. Nach Recherchen im Internet handelt es sich um ein Modell welches für Raid nicht geeignet ist und aufgrund SMR Technologie zu diesem Verhalten neigt. (NAS Festplatte?) Wie kann man so etwas so nennen? Das ist ja als würde man der Bundeswehr eine A-Klasse als Schützenpanzer verkaufen! Außerdem macht die Festplatte Fehler im DMESG und klackert in unterschiedlichen Intervallen als wäre Sie defekt. Es gibt aber keine Fehler im smartctl. WD, WAS SOLL DASS? Von einer NAS HDD erwarte ich dass ich diese auch im Raid einsetzen kann. Im Garantieaustausch erhält man Recertified Platten welche irgendwie auch keine Performance bringen, im Vergleich mit neuen (160MB/s / 25MB/s) FÜR MICH HEISST DAS: NIE WIEDER WD, JETZT TESTE ICH ERSTMAL SEAGATE IRONWOLFS

TERRIBLE & SLOW RETURNS PROCESS THAT HAS TAKEN WEEKS AND IS STILL NOT RESOLVED. I returned a dead drive 8 months into warranty. Five weeks later and three weeks after receiving it I still have not received a replacement.

Alle Daten nach ein paar Jahren verloren. Keine gute Idee sich auf Hard Drives zu verlassen. Ich weiß allerdings nicht, ob andere Hersteller (als WD) wirklich zuverlässiger sind? Hard drive lasted a couple of years. Then it was not recognized by the PC anymore. Alle Data were lost. I realy don´t know if other manufactoreres are more reliable. One should think about alternativ data saving!

Koop absoluut niets van WD, geen enkele ondersteuning in het Nederlands, geen gebruiksaanwijzing zelfs geen antwoord op Nederlandse mails, terwijl deze firma in Hoofddorp (NL) zit. Zal toch zeker iemand zijn die in het Nederlands kan antwoorden. WAARDELOOS heb helaas drie schijven van ze. Ik verkoop ze tegen elke aannemelijke prijs. Opgelet geen ondersteuning bij installatie en gebruik.

Their products are pretty decent. I've been using WD drives for more than decades, and barely have an issue. The CS responds like a robot as other companies do these days.

I bought my first NAS drive [WD MyCloud Mirror - 8TB] in 2015. What should have been a great idea as I needed remote access to my data turned into 6 years of pain. I could rarely connect using web access. Even when I was at home the unit would rarely connect via web access. So I could not check the health of the unit, its storage capacity or access the dashboard. And when the WD MyCloud site said it could not connect it would tell me to check settings on the dashboard. Well how was I supposed to do that if I couldn't connect to it? As I could almost only access the files using a shared link on my Mac's Finder at home the WD MyCloud NAS was only good as a large backup storage. I spent numerous hours over many years getting advice from WD but really to no avail. I've now dumped WD MyCloud and invested in Synology.
