3yo Bertazzoni Induction Range is Putting The Repairman's Kids Through College
Our three-year-old Bertazzoni induction range has required four repair calls (including two for temperature regulation and a $700 one to replace the oven-bottom glass element that shattered spontaneously.) The 5th call determined that the motherboard needs to be replaced, at a cost of $1600. What should we do? Throw $1600 at it and hope to nurse it along until we can get the money together to buy a different brand? Unfortunately, there aren't many 36" induction ranges to choose from, and reviews about reliability are conflicting. The Bertazzoni range is beautiful, the cooktop is great and the oven is huge. But for us, it's been a big disappointment. We just never know if it'll be working correctly. My reading of other reviews suggests other U.S. owners have faced the same issues. If a brand considers itself high end, it should ensure reliability above everything else. Bertazzoni doesn't.
