I bought a 2001 jeep 4.0L engine for a customer, after 2 month it came back with coolant in the oil, head was cracked, oil pressure was low due to sloppy cam bearings, common on these engines I found out. No warranty because I was 2 days late getting installation information back to them after installation. My shop was busy when the engine came and it wasn't installed right away. my advice, DON'T buy from this company, also their prices are not all that cheap.

The original ordering process was simple and they even offered me a $100 discount on my engine for a 2011 GMC Sierra 1500. Getting through to customer service and being able to track my order was a little bit of a hassle. But it was delivered on the day they said it would be with the engine intact on a fairly short crate. They claimed this engine had only 53k miles but after inspecting as best we could without tearing it down I don’t believe that is accurate. But we got it installed and it fired right up with no problems. I did activate the warranty online within the allotted timeframe but have not received any confirmation that it’s all good. We shall see. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that this engine is good. Overall I would give them a 3. Customer service leaves something to be desired.

The service was great and I got my engine in good time. It was freshly painted but I quickly found out that there was heavy rust underneath the paint and in between parts. I had to swap out several parts from my old engine due to the rust. After the install, now with 3000 miles on the replacement engine, it's still running great. I've had no other issues. I just think I over paid. Had I known how much rust and corrosion there was, I would have made a lower offer.

I got the engine and installed it was making all kinds of noises turns out the timing chain guides were broken and very thin/worn so I call the warranty department the guy told me to just email him the receipt and I would get reimbursed I said ok and I did that now $500 later for the timing chains and guides and gaskets and o-rings I sent the e-mail and I keep calling and sending more e-mails and calling and leaving voice mails but no one will respond to me

My mechanic installed the engine and it had an oil leak so he called SWEngines and they wouldn't answer his call and never called him back. The transmission had to be pulled twice before the oil leak was fixed. He even changed the oil pan which shouldn't have ever been messed with. Needless to say, I am not all that impressed with SWEngines's customer service.

We ordered on Sept 3, 2014... was a month before receiving engine which was damaged in shipping.the fuel system was very dirty. It has a miss under load. And the water pump has went out taking the oil cooler with it. I trust we'll be getting things right.

The Engine purchase and process was Great but the time it took to shipped engine was too long. Maybe the engine had to be pulled from the vehicle. Engine is working Great in the vehicle after the install.

the process of getting an engine from sw engines took way too long, then the "tested' engine arrived, and assuming everything was alright, my technician installed the engine only to find out it was siezed, had to remove the engine and wait for a replacement to be sent. The second engine arrived much more quickly than the original and other than the leaking exhaust manifold, it had no problems. sw engines wouold not cover my time to install the replacement motor, or give me any credit towards labor after sending me a defective engine.
