Today I went to Sephora to get a gift for my sister, for reference I am a teenage girl who was going with her friend. Soon entering and looking around a bit, I noticed we were being followed by a security guard. I don’t think we were looking particularly suspicious, but even when I went to check out, the security guard was still following us. The security guard even followed us as we left, even though I had the product and receipt in my hand. The security scanners went off, we were checked, in my bag, coat, even in my wallet. Mind you, a woman before us had also triggered the scanners, however they hadn’t checked her as thoroughly as they had to us. Was it because of our age? I don’t think every teenager that enters Sephora should be considered a shoplifter, although it is their job, following us as we bought the item was completely unnecessary. This situation made me feel extremely uncomfortable as it is not the first time this has happened at Sephora. It wasn’t about being seen as a threat, rather we were the only people checked so thoroughly. I am so highly disappointed in this brand, products good, yet approach to young people quite bad; disgusted and appalled by this approach to threats of shoplifting.

What a garbage company, no customer service at all either in stores or online. I can never find anyone to shade match me in-store and if they do, 9 times out of 10 they are wrong. I never get the samples I pick online and the birthday gift is always sold out. The points program is a scam. Ulta, please come to Canada and take my money!
