Is so horrible that you don’t do a background check in the owners, their pets and their homes. There is not safe in this app. I accept a housesitting for a dog and it was not the owner of the dog that received me in the appartment, it was her 87 years old mom. The owner was in a trip and they didn’t told me about this. The appartment looked abandoned. It was so dirty everywhere and the places where the dog sleep it was so dirty. It looked like the owner wasn’t months in her home. The garden plants had grown so much that it was noticeable that someone wasn’t living there months ago. It was an uninhabitable place. I contacted rover since last night and no one has talked to me back. I cancel the booking for obviously healthy reasons. *Update: The team of Rover in Italy contacted me apologizing but for now they are only paying me for one day of house sitting less the fees!! Is nothing for all the things I had to pass. Even I clean the apartment when it was not my responsibility to do it. I need at least a compensation of all the bad situation. I’m losing my day recovering sleeping and tiredness because I couldn’t sleep because of the bad odor and all the dirty and dust.

Hello Vanessa, we're sorry to hear that this was your experience. While this is not typical of Rover, we take feedback seriously. We encourage owners and sitters to have a Meet & Greet before the booking begins so you can see firsthand if this will be a good fit for everyone. I’ve passed along your feedback to our product team. If you’re ever looking for assistance, feel free to call our Rover Support team at 888-453-7889 and we’d be happy to help. -Lexie
