This course gives you the tools you need to become a successful proofreader, but you have to be the one to use the tools. As long as you follow the course and do each and everything you are instructed, I have no doubt that you will become successful.

I found this course incredibly easy to follow - you are guided through step, by step. The exam process was straightforward, and the team were very quick to turn it all around. I have seen some grumbles about having to do all the essays - but seriously? It was the way I discovered the things I wasn't looking for along with useful links to specific CMOS references. This was definitely a great way to practice and learn if you tackled it as a learning exercise and looked all the things up that you didn't understand or had questions about. There are so many rules and nuances, that a course to cover everything would take months and months, and how much would you honestly remember? Being methodical and learning to look things up and check things out as you go along are the best lessons I took away. I am British and had the added challenge of discerning between American and British conventions. Now, having learned to work to a specific style, I feel confident that I can work across different styles and conventions. I would recommend this course to anyone looking to try a new career or simply wanting to brush up on their own command of SPAG.

My experience with Proofread Anywhere was excellent. The course was comprehensive and helped me brush up on my skills. But it was more than just technical. The material includes how to turn this skill into a business, including the software needed to successfully proofread for clients as well as how to find clients and keep them. Well worth the cost!

The course was very practical and covered a lot of topics to help me feel as prepared as possible to dive into the unknown of freelance proofreading. I feel it created a realistic picture of the challenges that lie ahead. The team communicated effectively and in a timely manner. They followed through on what they said they would do. I didn't fully understand, however, that there were two completely different courses available that would qualify me for different areas of proofreading. Perhaps communication about this could be improved upon. I felt like I only had one option but probably would have taken the other course had I known about it.

This course is a well done and helpful source for anyone looking to get into proofreading. It helped me tremendously, and it forced me to push myself to do better with what I already knew as well as learning new things.

Website was very easy to navigate through. Information was concise and well explained, with lots of practice tests and essays. All of that was fun for me to work through. The harder things are website building and all the rest of the business side of things. Challenging! Overall I really have enjoyed this course, and look forward to seeing how my career takes off!

I took the course, mostly for the support it offered for finding work. I could have taught the information provided on proofreading and editing myself, so that wasn't of value to me, and as far as showing me how to find work, the "support" was wildly disappointing. Who doesn't know to get business cards printed, build a website, and network for jobs? I'd have been way better off spending my money on social media advertising than on this course. Also, very dull presentation - just a series of text-only slides. Not at the level of a Udemy or similar. Buy a copy of Eats, Shoots and Leaves and ask ChatGPT how to launch a proofreading business. Edit: The response below talks about the “community” I could learn from. As far as I could tell, people had the same concerns as me. I’m not saying the course was worthless. I’m saying it was worth about 20% of what I paid for it.
