If Medicare pays, physicians mutual pays. I’ve been with them for about 5 years. Probably like other companies, the price keeps going up every year, however.

We like Physician Mutual's coverage, but the cost for premiums are becoming prohibitive. Unless the premiums stabilize or decrease, we will need to look for other options. Since starting with Physicians Mutual our premiums increased 250%!!

Satisfied with services

Premiums are not low enough for the coverage being provided. Also the dental coverage does not cover items such as nightguards. Nightguards would help keep the teeth from wearing, which would result in overall dental repairs or dental work in the future. Don't know why PM wouldn't provide for such an obvious apparatus for its customers.

Overall coverage as promised, reliable provider network. Monthly Cost at 1 year increased.

You have to be aware of what type of plan you are buying-almost all dental plans have a maximum yearly benefit and deductible-this PM plan does not-however the allowed benefit is low-and root canals are categorized as major services dropping percentage of payment to 50%-compare to office charges and select a preferred provider for better coverage-a patient with a large treatment plan of major services might be the exception as you have no yearly maximum and will give you more opportunity to advance treatment. I.E.-if you were to choose a plan with a $1000.00 max you may probably be able to perform a crown, and 2 cleanings in a year and you would be close or over your max.-in my case it was a better choice to enroll here as my former dental plan also purchased privately (Delta Dental) and only covered up to $1000.00. I would better benefit from this plan due to my needed treatment-someone who requires 2 cleanings a year and maybe a filling should question if they need to enroll in a dental plan-if you get an employer plan as a benefit you can still enroll in this plan as secondary if you need more coverage than the primary. Be aware of guidelines and enrollment offers for implants. Almost all plans have a "missing tooth clause". Call the customer service # to answer your questions-I have called many times and had 1 issue over the last 5 years which was resolved due to insufficient information by the dental office for the claim. Remember, you only get the discounted out-of-pocket expense if you see a "preferred network provider". Providers are listed on their website-and place a call to check if they are currently active with the plan.
