Great online customer service, quick, efficient, professional, and knowledgeable. They also have the best HYSA yield of any bank I could find and make it easy to deal with them. I have dealt with Katie over the course of the past few weeks and she is just exceptional.

Marcie is the most dedicated and thoughtful customer service agent I have ever encountered. There are glitches in the Newtek Bank website for the account registration process which can only be fixed by a customer service representative. I had called in and been on extended holds many times over several days, which connected me with other agents who would partially help me with the next step until another glitch occurred. Then I was back waiting on hold when I could find the time to spare. Then there was Marcie. She is exceptional. She immediately cued into my dilemma and kindly walked me through the process and stayed on the phone until my application was complete. Then she contacted me the next day in an attempt to get me the best rate for their 6 month CD since the registration process dragged on for several days before connecting with her and the rate had decreased in the interim. She is friendly, caring, personable, and 100% committed to helping every client one by one regardless of how long it takes and without consideration for her own personal convenience. She’s the kind of teammate anyone would want working to represent their company. It’s experiences like this that become the material for inspirational books and articles. Truly inspiring and unforgettable. I’m so grateful for people like Marcie!

Marcia is an example of great customer service at this bank. She was articulate,and smart with great personality who knows what she's talking about. She helped to setup my savings account and walked me through every aspect of it and was flawless. She needs a raise!

What made my experience great, you ask? In one word, Tanya. Tanya went so far beyond the general customer service that I was expecting when I called, that I feel it is important to call it out! From the very beginning of the call, Tanya found something concerning in my profile that was totally unbeknownst to me. I had inadvertently set up 2 profiles for the same account. Tanya worked a little magic to get the 2nd profile canceled, in order that it would not give me login problems in the future. She would not have known this, but one of the sources of frustration that led me in the past to not do as much business with Newtek Bank was that I was always having login issues. Not anymore, thanks to Tanya's keen eye! Once we finally got on to the issue about which I called, which was how to execute a wire transfer, Tanya cheerfully set it up for me and walked me through the entire process. What set her performance apart from others in her field, is the fact that she explained the reasons behind steps, like the security features on the account. Other customer service "specialists" may simply tell you WHAT is needed, but Tanya explained WHY the required information is needed. This is so appreciated because I was taught in a past life that those in the service industry should be asking, "How can I make it easier for you to do business with me?" It shouldn't be the other way around, and I think some companies have forgotten which side is the customer! Tanya displays what customer service should be. It is obvious that she cares that the customer really gets what they are looking for. Her empathy comes out as she actually sounds like a person with actual feelings who can put herself in the customer's shoes. This is SO appreciated, and a main way that Tanya's team can set themselves apart from others in the industry. I am one customer who is happy to have Newtek Bank as a financial partner and am fortunate that I got Tanya on the phone when I called today to explain things through for me. Thanks Tanya!

Astonishingly bad. Calling 1-800 number goes to voicemail. Online chat no one responds despite "0 people ahead of you in queue". Very low weekly cap on the amount you can transfer out (but no limit on transferring in). Website barely functions.
