California DMV is false advertising
How does the state of California advertise $28 title replacement, then blindside customers with costs that exceed $180? $28 title + $150 service charge + $6 certified letter. Tried to call to inquire, took 3 tries, on hold for 20 minutes each; first time eventually left a message for a callback (didn’t happen), second time eventually talked to someone and was ghosted. Once all documentation was sent, the process was very quick and next day acknowledging that my title replacement was now in the hands of the state for printing. No option on the DMV website to make an appointment or go in person for $28 title replacement.

Our Duplicate Title fees are disclosed and explained in detail prior to checkout, alongside a full explanation of the process. Duplicate Title transfers can be tedious, and it's best to have a trusted DMV registration service provider on your side. Please contact our customer care department if we can be of any further assistance.
