David that's fabulous, thank you so much for leaving us this review. You were a pleasure to work with and your gorilla selfie with your sons is one of our favourite selfies ever! Next time Africa calls you know where we are!

Our experience with The Gorilla Safari Company was nothing short of perfect! Lodging, food, transportation were all amazing. Seeing mountain gorillas up close after a tough hike was the best way to cap it all off. Some of the best hospitality we’ve ever experienced!

Keith, that's so lovely to hear. It's made our morning reading your review and thanks for also taking the time to let us know all about your experiences in your email. Love the fact that the gorillas were beyond your expectations and that you had such a good rapport with your guide, Faustin. Keep in touch as we would love to help you again!

The Gorilla Safari Company organised a fantastic trip for us, everything was flawless and the acomodation they chose for us was perfect! Donna got in touch with me so quickly after I made the initial inquiry and she clearly knew exactly what she was talking about and was able to tailor the trip to our specific requirements. We were even given personalised wooden walking sticks with our names on, and they supplied water bottles for us to reduce plastic consumption! Admitedly, the waterbottles did seem to leak which was a little annoying, but thats really my only grumble! Thank you for everything!

Thank you Olivia, Donna is an absolute gorilla guru and does a fabulous job at tailor making the safari to suit what each client is looking for. Great to hear that you enjoyed your accommodation and everything went so well. Our apologies for the issue with regards to the water bottles - we are following up with our African suppliers. Where possible we like to support local businesses but we will do our best to rectify this. Many thanks again and please do let us know if we can help you again in the future as we cover the whole of Africa.

From my first inquiry with Groilla Safari Company to the last detail, everything was perfect. My inquiry was answered faster than two others I had also sent. Donna got back with me right away by telephone and we began emailing. Amanda was also very responsive and detailed before the trip. From the moment my son and I arrived in Rwanda and were met by our first driver, Mugabe, we saw we were being taken care of! What a knowledgeable guy Mugabe was. Even my 19-year old son was so impressed! We enjoyed the golden monkey trek and were on our way to Uganda. Second driver, Charles, was also very good, as was our final driver Arias. The staff at the lodge in Uganda superb - a Shout out to Jude, Rosemary and Adolf! Gorillas were fantastic. Thanks for making us feel safe and well-cared for! Highly recommend!

I can’t say enough about the company. The company staff answered my millions of questions and arranged a great 2 day personalized tour of Kigali for me as I arrived before my tour. The accommodations were fine. The gorillas were incredible. I highly recommend this group.

Please do keep in touch as we would love to help you with another adventure in Africa.

Gorilla safari co. scored when they hired Martin as our guide. He was flexible enough to give us the freedom to make changes as requested. He had his preference for which gorilla family he thought we should visit and that worked out perfectly. The company was flexible in making sure our accommodations changed when Construction made it necessary. All in all we were very happy with both the accommodations the plans and our guide.

Gorilla Safari arranged five days and nights for us starting with a pickup at our hotel in Kigali, ending with dropoff at the Entebbe airport. They arranged three drivers, three lodges and permits for trekking with golden monkeys in Rwanda, gorillas and chimpanzees in Uganda. Two lodges were terrific, Nkuringo and Primate Lodge, both in Uganda. Villa Gorilla in Rwanda was sub-standard. Logistics worked like clockwork, everything clicked along. Only other criticism was our last driver/guide, Ismail, while a really nice knowledgeable guy, seemed to be subtly pressuring us to pay him more. We did the 4 hour gorilla habituation trek, only available in Uganda. It frankly was too tough for our mid-70s bodies. We made it, gorillas were great, but we put ourselves at too much risk. Be very fit if you try this.

Thank you Duane for taking the time to leave this review and also for sending us a lovely email with all the detailed feedback in. We are really glad that you had such a great trip; it was unfortunate that one of the lodges did not match your expectations and we have followed up with the points that you raised so thank you for bringing this to our attention. Ismail is one of our best guides and we apologise that you felt this way about the tipping, this should not have been the case. As you mention, the habituation trek can be very demanding and is often underestimated by those who are keen to do it - we do try our best to highlight this in our communications but it is hard for clients to picture it before they have done it! We would always recommend a standard trek unless, as you say, clients are very fit. Many thanks again and please let us know if we can help again in the future.

The Gorilla Safari Company booked my lodging and activities for a private trip to Rwanda and Uganda and a group tour in Tanzania. The private trip was amazing. The driver/guide, Patrick, was with me every step of the way, including joining me for meals. On the group tour of Tanzania there were 8 travelers in 2 safari jeeps. The accomodations, food and activities were first rate. The office staff (Donna, Amanda, Kate) attended to every detail and were incredibly responsive in answering all of my questions via either email or phone prior to departure and during the trip.

Thank you Diane - you certainly had an adventurous time in Africa and it was great to hear all about it from you first hand. Its a great idea to add Tanzania or Kenya to a gorilla trekking safari and we were all so pleased that it all worked out so well for you. Keep in touch and we would love to see some photos!
