My raw ancestry dna was not testable. Seems a few important caveats were missing and therefore couldn't be run. I'm curious now. How could they be missing?
Response from GenoPalate· Sep 23, 2020
Hi Deine, DNA data files have thousands of datapoints which contain your genotypes for genetics markers called SNPs. When your DNA is analyzed at the lab they will extract the data for many of these genes, but not all of them, unless you complete a very expensive full genome sequencing. From these thousands of data points, GenoPalate uses approximately 100 to provide you with nutritional recommendations. Unfortunately, certain ancestry tests do not have data for enough of the data points that we look at to provide you with a high quality product that we are confident in. For example, of the thousands of data points in your DNA file, you may have only had 90 of the 100 we use for our nutritional analysis. When this occurs, the file does not pass our quality control standards, and we offer the customer the option to purchase our DNA kit which will cover all of the necessary data points. We understand this can be frustrating, but hope this helps to clarify your situation. If you have further questions, please contact [email protected] Thank you, The GenoPalate® Team

Don’t waste your money!! They don’t really use your DNA raw data for your diet. They made a huge mistake with mine and nobody answered their phone and there isn’t any customer service besides a weak group orientation.

Hi Eva, We sincerely apologize for your disappointment with your GenoPalate results. All of your nutrition recommendations are derived from evidence-based research from high-impact clinical trials and population studies that directly link positive health outcomes with nutritional genomics. This research shows that variants in your genes influence how well you metabolize and absorb certain nutrients and what nutrition leads to these positive health outcomes for your genotype. If you have any specific questions or concerns, please email us at [email protected] at your convenience. Sincerely, The GenoPalate® Team

Very thorough, yet concise information regarding what foods would be best for my DNA. Easy to understand and implement, too!

Pretty cool nutrient & food recommendations. Many were already some of my favorite foods, but there were a few surprises and new insights. Fairly cheap if you already have your DNA sequenced through 23&Me or Ancestry. Would love to see more in depth nutrient breakdowns on the recommended foods. Would also love a searchable dictionary of all the foods in the GenoPalate database, broken out by food type. Would be interesting to be able to select any given food in this dictionary and see the nutrient breakdown, as well as an icon showing the relative "fitness" of the food to my GenoPalate results (best, great, good... but also not so good and bad).

I loved getting my results and seeing validation of the foods I currently eat being good choices for my body. I am low in folate, which I never would have known. It just provides another piece to the puzzle of our complicated bodies.
