Dear Susan: WE WOULDN'T KNOW about your experience!!, (None of us) have ever put "silly putty" in our ears!!!! BUT WE DO KNOW how to insert our ultra-high blocking (Beeswax) ear plugs (( CORRECTLY )) in our ears, so that they block out our snoring partners. Susan, our Ultra-High blocking Beeswax ear plug must be inserted to SEAL, YES SEAL the ear canal TO BLOCK OUT. Please follow the directions below (exactly) and you'll block that snoring out completely !!! 1. First take ONE ear plug at a time and (knead or work) it well through your fingers or hands for 15 seconds to make the ear plug (soft and mouldable). Then follow the directions in # 2 2. Push and flatten the softened ear plug, (a bit firmly), IN and AGAINST your ear opening & into your ear canal UNTIL YOU FEEL the ear plug ( SEAL ) (SEAL) (SEAL) your ear canal. YES, It needs to SEAL the ear to block out much. IMPORTANT: If the ear plug doesn't (( SEAL )) immediately, then just keep your finger pressed against it with slight pressure for a few more seconds and it will warm and SEAL PERFECTLY. 3. Now take the other ear plug, and prepare it and insert it (exactly) the same way as the first ear plug. Susan, now with both ears SEALED, LISTEN TO (( SILENCE )) !!!!!! We are at 800-226-1884.
