I've used dutch for a Year and I was going to renew my membership the following year. Until my dog kept getting a spot on her leg that would lose fur and start to get puffy..I scheduled an appointment with a vet on Dutch. The first vet appointment went well..she listened to what I had to say which was "my dog keeps getting a spot in her leg where I think she chews when she gets anxious, bored and etc. the vet said it was infected from consit chewing..and prescribed antibiotics (oral), and topical antibiotic moose the spot on my dog's leg had gotten better. So fast forward a few months after the meds we're gonna and we had gotten a bad storm the chewing started again from anxiety yes my dog has really really bad anxiety with loud noises to where she starts to shake and hides..anyways after the chewing starts again the spot returned the same place on the same leg right where I saw her chewing. So I take her to a local vet. Same out come and the spot goes away. So fast forward a year the spot returns a 3rd time I scheduled a vet appointment with Dutch..however this time it was different the vet didn't want to hear what I had to say even though I had said when scheduling the appointment every time before, I live with the dog and observe her actions on a daily basis and she just viewed on for about 20 seconds on camera on a 10 minute video call. The spot, the anxiety, the chewing and the spot healing with the meds. But the vet didn't wanna hear it. She already had her diagnosis made up and most likely even the prescriptions which there 2 that were over $100 each one with 2 refills. She was rude and pretty much told me I didn't know what I was talking about (I didnt tell her that the previous diagnosis came from previous vets..2 completely different vets). The 3rd vet told me it was caused by fleas and the 1 spot was an allergic reaction. After the Dutch appointment I called a local vet and made an appointment that same day was prescribed the antibiotics and my dog's leg healed again. I will not be renewing my dutch membership because alot of the vets on dutch try to push expensive meds from the Dutch pharmacy. It's all a money grab. Some of the vets on dutch actually care about our pets not most of them are on dutch to sell Dutch products and prescriptions to make a commissions some times very expensive meds. So the next time if something doesn't seem right at your next dutch appointment get a second opinion before paying for any expensive meds from dutch pharmacy.

Updates review. While the appointment availability was fast and conveniently in the comfort of my home. The fees for the RX were unexpected. The doctor was clear on directions for treatment. My appointment was 6:10 a.m. on a Thursday..my pet needed 2 prescriptions. I had to email their care team to finally have access to the pets orders. At checkout for prescriptions they charge a $7 pharmacy service fee. Them shipping. To get it at the earliest would be Monday at an additional $15-$25. So I inquired on transferring my prescriptions again. Another fee. So, ultimately, I decided to split up my order between 2 sites and what should have only cost me $60 for 1 prescription through Dutch, after all of their fees ended up costing me over $80. So needless to say I lowered their ratings from 5 stars to 3.

One thing that may help going forward: we offer a price match on medications from other US-based pharmacies, so if you find your pet's meds for less, just send us a current screenshot showing the non-sale price and we'll do our best to match it. Access to a vet veterinarian is fantastic. Access to the meds is a whole other story even when you pay for expedited shipping it takes three days minimum so if your animal is sick, this is not a good choice.

We hear you, and we want to make sure the shipping options are clear: we offer rush shipping designed to arrive in 1 to 2 days, and there's also the option to transfer your prescription to a local pharmacy, which typically takes 1 to 3 days depending on availability. We'll also share your note about expedited timing with our team, since getting meds to your pet quickly matters. One thing worth mentioning: Dutch is best suited for non-urgent care, so if your animal needs medication right away, an in-person visit may be the faster route. 24hr appointments is misleading,long wait times to get an appointment scheduled as well as no vet appointments are available’24/7’. All the advertising relies on ‘play on words’. Vet was amazing, unfortunately you cant select the same vet for additional appointments for additional pets. Have asked through the app multiple times and continue to get the same ‘canned’ response from what appears to be AI.

Appointment availability can vary depending on where you live and your pets’ specific needs, which means though your pets will always receive excellent care, it may not always be from the same vet. That said, despite one of our team members misreading your request, it looks like your second dog will indeed see the same vet. Feedback like yours helps us catch these kinds of mix-ups sooner.

The first couple of vets I saw were not my favorite and I felt like they were talking down to me during the call. However, on the third try, I got someone who was clearly knowledgeable and non-judgmental. I paid for the subscription for a year for up to 5 animals, giving me free exams for the entire year. This is incredibly valuable and also solves my issue of not having a vehicle at this time. Receiving an exam from my home is much less stressful on any of my animals, and I am very grateful to have that option, especially with my cat, who is scared of people. The treatments are moderately more expensive than other places you could purchase them, so I shop around before getting them directly from their pharmacy, which takes a few days to ship if you do not pay for the faster shipping, which is quite an expensive option.

I think this is a lovely option for uses that do not require less than 4 day time frames. I called in for a suspected kennel cough due to my local vet being booked out and had a lovely chat with the vet. They prescribed pills to aid with the cough on 8/14, the soonest it could be shipped to my home is 8/17 (still have not arrived as of afternoon of 8/17). I followed up with the vet as his cough started to produce and he had some slight thick snot. They prescribed antibiotics for since it was not emergent but progressively getting worse. It was called in and the transfer request for a local pharmacy was made on 8/16. I called on 8/17 to see if we could expedite the transfer request as the pharmacy has not received the prescription. The support center staff was incredibly rude, making no attempt to see if we could expedite having the script sent to a local pharmacy and said if I had an immediate issue I should have went to a local vet as they have a 3-day processing window to transfer the script. Which is stupid in 2026, most likely a ploy to have you use their pharmacy even though it takes multiple days to be shipped to you. That is fine for preventative care, but not when there is a suspected infection involved. Per the recommendation of the call center staff, I will not be using Dutch for much other than flea and tick renewals.

Your order was placed on August 14th with a quoted delivery date of August 18th, and it actually arrived at your doorstep a day early, on August 17th. The additional medication was submitted for transfer on August 16th; we processed it and sent it to the pharmacy on August 18th. When the pharmacy said they didn't have it, we followed up again on August 19th to confirm it was there and ready for pickup under your pet's name. Regarding your calls, our team answered each time right away and provided the steps needed to move things along. Because Dutch isn't designed for emergency or urgent care, our agent advised that if your pet's condition was worsening, the safest option would be to be seen in person for immediate care. That guidance comes from a genuine concern for your pet's wellbeing, and we're sorry if it came across otherwise.
