I wish there would be a more prompt response to orders that say, will be shipped in a few days, so I know when to expect the email saying, your order had been shipped.

My dogs do great on this food. Been feeding this since 2022. Never had an issue. My dogs love the food as well.

Have you changed your formula in your cat food?? I have noticed their eyes don't seem as bright, their fur doesn't seem as shiney, your chicken formula has SO much fat in it anymore, and now they are refusing to eat it!
Response from Darwin's Natural Pet Products· Apr 14, 2026
Hi Alannah, Thank you for reaching out and sharing this. I can imagine how frustrating it must feel to see changes in your cats’ appetite, coat, and overall brightness, especially when they’ve been doing well on the food before. I have forwarded your review to the CS managers, who will be contacting you this week to talk about what you're seeing with the cat chicken. Thank you.

I’ve been using Darwin’s for both their standard poultry formulas and their prescription Kidney Health options, and overall I’ve been very satisfied. The quality of the food is noticeably high, and most importantly, my cats genuinely enjoy eating it. Since switching, I’ve seen consistent healthy body weight, good bathroom habits, and they even seem to drink less water—likely because of the moisture content in the food. One of the biggest differences I’ve noticed is in their litter box. When my cats eat other brands, the change in stool and urine quality and smell is immediately noticeable—in a bad way. With Darwin’s, everything is much more consistent and noticeably improved. That said, I’m giving 4 out of 5 stars instead of 5. I’m aware there have been past recalls and quality issues with some dog and cat batches, which gives me some pause. Additionally, with the kidney formula specifically, there have been a few times where the quality seemed off enough that my cats wouldn’t eat it. To their credit, Darwin’s customer service was excellent and sent replacements at no cost, which I really appreciated. Overall, I trust the product and will continue using it, but I do hope to see continued improvements in consistency and quality control.

Hello Kenny, Thank you for taking the time to share such a thoughtful and detailed review. It’s wonderful to hear how well both the standard poultry formulas and the Kidney Health diet have supported your cats, from maintaining a healthy body weight to improved litter box consistency and overall enjoyment of the food. Those day‑to‑day changes you’re seeing, especially with moisture intake and stool quality, are exactly the kinds of improvements we hope these diets provide. I also appreciate your acknowledging the responsiveness of our customer service team when something hasn’t seemed quite right. We’re glad the replacements were helpful, and your feedback about occasional inconsistencies is important. While we’re grateful for your trust and long‑term use of the food, we also take seriously the responsibility to continue strengthening quality control so every batch meets the standard your cats are used to. Your balanced perspective — recognizing what’s working while being honest about what you hope to see improved — is incredibly valuable. Thank you again for being a dedicated customer and for sharing your experience so clearly.
