You can include any combination of our diets in your orders, so your pup doesn’t have to be stuck eating the same recipe every day. Hi, thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that your dog experienced digestive upset and that Chi Dog wasn’t the right fit for you. We did want to clarify that there are some important differences between Chi Dog and many other fresh-food options. Our recipes are made with human-grade, whole-food ingredients that are gently cooked fresh, and we do not use organ meats. Organ meats can be particularly concentrated sources of nutrients such as copper and, depending on the organ and cut, can also contribute additional fat. We intentionally formulate without them and use high-quality muscle meats along with fresh vegetables and grains. Our recipes are also formulated with a specific whole-food and Holistic Food Therapy approach rather than simply being another frozen fresh food. Every dog is different, however, and even a high-quality food may not agree with every dog’s digestive system. We’re sorry this was your experience and appreciate you giving Chi Dog a try.

Thank you for the feedback, and we completely understand why the size and upfront cost of the supplements can seem like a lot, especially when you have a very small dog. One thing we’d love to reassure you about is that our Home Cooking Supplements have a 2-year expiration date when stored properly in a dry, temperature-controlled environment. Keeping the packages tightly sealed—or placing them in a sealed zip-lock bag—in a pantry or cabinet is a great way to store them. There is no need to refrigerate them. For very small dogs, this actually makes the supplements quite cost-effective over time. Because their daily serving is so small, one package can last a long time, and the extended shelf life allows you to use the product well before it expires when stored correctly. We certainly appreciate the feedback regarding smaller package sizes as well. We’re always listening to what would make home cooking easier and more convenient for our customers. Cats can be especially sensitive to changes in texture, temperature, and smell, so sometimes a few small adjustments can make a big difference. We recommend trying to puree the Chi Cat with a little warm water to create a smoother consistency, or gently warming the food to help bring out its natural aroma. You can also start with just a very small amount mixed into their current food and gradually increase it over time. Every cat is different, and some simply need a little more time to adjust to a fresh, whole-food diet. If you still have some Chi Cat remaining, we hope you’ll give these tips a try! In the meantime, rather than using a knife, we recommend using a pair of kitchen scissors to carefully cut along the edge of the package.
