Difficult to set up

I am so disappointed with this platform. I really wanted to like it but its just been one problem after another. I am a small creator and just started growing my following. As soon as I signed up to the platform it automatically upgraded me to a professional plan, without the possibility to opt out. Spent weeks customising my homepage, because the design tools are super non-intuitive and options are all over the place. After the paid plan expired, I naturally lost access to most things, what I didn't realise is that, yes, they leave the website builder, but they lock out all the layout options. I can no longer edit the navigation menu, the hero, anything. I can only change the colours and my profile pic. The worst part is that, I now have these custom pages in my navigation bar that are broken, because they are not included in the free plan. I can't even delete them. I wanted to write to customer service to remove them, but even that is not available with the launch plan! Customer support does not exist! I now have to migrate to another platform, because not having basic option in the free plan is straight-up unacceptable. Thanks for killing my dreams beehiiv. Update: The support team gave me a week of pro to fix my homepage.

Still learning
I also post on Medium and find it to be more user friendly and intuitive. That said I am still learning beehiiv and will continue to post on both platforms.

Spent a whole day setting up my newsletter to realize they want ID verification to use the API. Why on earth do I need to provide government documents to run a newsletter? Im not even doing anything wrong but why would I want to do that? You already verified my email and my cell phone number now you want my ID? what a waste of my time.
