Dishonest and greedy. Won’t honor discount codes and will cancel order. Also good luck on canceling subscription. They took that option away so people get stuck with it. Their food is also missing omega oils. Not all recipes have it. Not worth the hassel.

Do not use their website. Promised codes don’t work and they NEVER return emails. Good luck canceling a subscription or getting a refund if your dog doesn’t like it. They don’t respond to email but spam you with marketing emails several times a day. Very questionable company.

Misleading and non-honest sale pricing being advertised on this brands main website. Shady business practices. If you able to, steer clear from this brand.

Thank you for reaching out to our support team directly, we already replied to you there but will also post our reply publically here since you have decided you need to post this publicly here on our Trustpilot page as well. We are happy to clarify. (also, based on the context of the screenshot you send us over email) The price shown ($11.50/lb for a one-time purchase or $10.92/lb with a subscription) is the cost per pound of food, not per bag. In the screenshot you shared, the bundle is configured with 4 of our 7lb bags, for a total of 28lbs of food. The pricing is calculated based on the total weight of the order, which is why the Subscribe & Save total comes to approximately $305 after the 5% subscriber discount is applied. I apologize for any confusion. I can certainly understand how the pricing display could be interpreted differently at first glance, and I appreciate you bringing it to our attention. Seeing as you haven't yet ever purchased anything from us or done business with us yet, we would love the opportunity to address any further questions so you can test out introducing our product to your pup(s).

My fiancée attempted to call them to pause our subscription because our dog was experiencing diarrhea. Unfortunately, there is nobody to speak to and they force you to text them. She texted them to pause the next order and somehow "a pup above" decided to send us 2 more orders equaling $1,300. When my fiancée fought this they told her that she accidentally ordered 4 months before pausing subscription. Of course, that is not true and we have evidence via text, etc. We are contacting our credit card company, BBB, etc. This is the worst experience we have had with a dog food supplier and we sincerely warn any future customers from doing business with them. Our story is not unique as you see other Reviewers with similar stories.

Hi Damon, we did connect with you and your fiancée on this, and we're sorry the resolution wasn't what you were hoping for. We reviewed the account and worked through the options our policies allow, even though we know that didn't fully settle things for you. We take feedback like this seriously and it's already shaping how we handle pause requests. If anything's still open on your end, we're here if you want to reconnect.

Very disappointing experience with A Pup Above. I paused my subscription because my dog became very sick on their food, yet they still processed TWO orders back-to-back, totaling over $1,300 in frozen dog food. That’s an unreasonable amount for any household to store. I tried contacting them multiple times through email, phone, and text before shipment and received no help. They shipped both orders anyway and are now refusing a refund. I’ve since escalated this through PayPal. Just be aware before ordering.

Hi Protea, our team did speak with you about the two orders, and we're sorry we couldn't land on an outcome that felt right to you. We reviewed everything on the account and did what we could within our policies. We hear that it wasn't the answer you wanted, and we're genuinely sorry the food didn't work out for your dog. We're still here at [care channel] if there's anything outstanding.

They spam me with their emails. I never signed up for them just randomly started getting them. I used their unsubscribe link and said it was successful yet continue to get their emails. I reached out to them to tell them to stop spamming me with their emails and they "claim" they "attempted" to remove my email address from their email list but here we are, a month later and I am STILL getting them. Why would I ever bother ordering from a company that spams with emails I didn't sign up for and pretend they do it but clearly they don't.
Response from A Pup Above· Jun 3, 2026
Hi, thanks for flagging this, and we're sorry it took more than one try to get right. We've gone in and suppressed your address across our system so the emails stop for good. You should never have to ask twice for that. If a stray one ever slips through, send it to [care channel] and we'll shut it down immediately.

I place an order for a sample pack last week, It came up as free. I got an email confirming my order. then 2 days later the email me again and cancel my order tell me that I have to buy something to get the sampler. Why would I order food 1st then buy the sample? I want the sample to see if my dog likes it. If your website gives it to me free, thats your bad and not mine. Honor your screw up, fix it and move on.
Response from A Pup Above· Jun 3, 2026
Hi Connie, we did follow up on the sample pack, and we're sorry for the confusion on how the offer came through. We worked it within what we could do on our end. If you'd still like to try the food with your dog, reach us at [care channel] and reference this review and we'll help you get there.

Great food. Terrible customer service. Can’t reach them directly. The emails or hit or miss (mostly miss) they never spoke and don’t ship for food that is paid for. I am 3 weeks late on my subscription that I paid for (and it’s expensive) and they could care less. No way to get a hold of a human.
Response from A Pup Above· Jun 3, 2026
Hi Emily, thank you for the kind words on the food, and we're sorry the support side didn't match it. We did get your subscription sorted after connecting with you, though we know the wait to get there was longer than it should have been. That's on us to be faster, and it's something we're working on. We're here at [care channel] if you need anything else.
