Works great! We needed a gate that was a bit wider than an average doorway, and this does the trick. We use it in our office place to keep the office dog out of the front area, so it is opened and closed multiple times a day, and so far, this gate continues to perform. I would definitely recommend it.

Hi Maryann—thanks for your 5-star recommendation! We have done extensive testing of all the other retractable gates on the market, and the main difference is simply quality. It is tempting to buy something cheaper, but the old adage of “you get what you pay for” is very true here as well. Thank you again, and please let us know if you have any questions by contacting us at [email protected]. Deanna at Smart Retract

The product has been in use daily for 4 weeks. We use it to keep our black lab/boarder collie in one area of the house at night. We installed it so it retracts into a closet during the day, it just sort of disappears when not in use. I would highly recommend this product. The materials the product is made from are high quality and all mechanisms work well.

We purchased our second retract-a-gate for the bottom of our stairs. The first one has done a great job for us for several years, in a different location. Works well to keep the dogs out of the kitchen !

I ordered 2 gates and a banister kit. The gates are great to keep the little ones off the stairs. I love that the size of the doorway is not made smaller by the gate. I did not use the banister kit and sent it back. The refund was made quickly.

This gate works well for our awkward spot, has held up well, and was worth the price. The adapter kit also helped!
