I've received my two re-lensed frames and they're excellent. The prescription was executed cleanly. I say that with every sense of appreciation as I have a pair from another vendor where the axis is off and let me tell you it's uncomfortable. It took a month, but the absence of surprises and the price make it well worth it. As they're a "very small company" by their own admission a note of experience is in order. E-mail responses are a bit slow, so cluster your communications. One of them will get through and things will happen. And be courteous; they're courteous when they get back to you, and your eyeglasses will follow shortly.

RLE is a great place to go for designer frames at prices you can actually afford. I was very happy with how quickly I got my new Gucci frames with prescription lenses

I can recommend Replacement Lens Express, despite the many negative reviews out there. THOUGH YOU MUST HAVE PATIENCE WITH THEM!! I got GREAT (external reference) lenses from them, shipped out from the lab that they use, (external reference). It took a long time to get my glasses back with the new lenses--almost 4 weeks, and they did forget to make them with Transitions, despite the fact that I upgraded my original order (via their instructions) to add the Transitions (via a separate order). They offered to remake the lenses over with the Transitions, or give me a refund. I opted for the refund. In trying to communicate with the these folks at Replacement Lens Express, it's hard--they answered the phone once out of the 8 time I tried calling. They did answer emails. but it took a while. Sometimes I had to reiterate several times over the emails what I was trying to say, what I was asking for, before they seemed to understand, to get it (and what I was trying to convey wasn't really complicated). Like I said, you need patience when dealing with these folks. But they can deliver, or at least they did for me, excellent brand name progressive jenses purchased online, that were $200-$300 cheaper than my local OD's offices, and every bit the optical equal. Mine came with the (external reference) certificate of authenticity, and they lenses had the (external reference) markings where they should. They were the real deal!

I saw a recommendation for this company on ask.com when asking about if it was possible to just replace lenses and ordered the same day. Website says the turn around time is five days from the time they receive your glasses. After three weeks I emailed the status update address from the website and heard nothing back. Then I tried calling all the phone numbers listed and they all answered with a recording saying the voicemail was full. So then I went to do the research on the company I should've done before I ordered and it was terrible. They have a F rating on the better business bureau site and lots of terrible reviews from customers on sites like this. So I emailed the woman stephanie who had emailed me about the rx in the beginning and she got right back to me and said she got the new guy covering for her up to speed and they were all set to get my order ready. One month later which was two months since I originally ordered I emailed again to ask what the problem was. I got a response this time from someone named ed he said that my order slipped through the cracks during some changes at the company but that he would stay on top of it and send it overnight when they were done. Sure enough three days later I got an email that my order was ready and being shipped and the next day I got the glasses. The lenses were perfect and they even tightened the frames for me. So it took much longer than promised, but the customer service was good and the product was perfect. If you have a problem with this company the only way to get a hold of anyone is through email.

Replacement Lens Express changed trifocal lenses in two pairs of glasses for me recently. The first pair was perfect - prescription, PD, and segment height were all just as I requested. The second pair was not quite as good. The prescription and PD are right on,but the segment height is 2mm lower than I requested. While 2 mm does not sound like a lot, it places the near vision part of the trifocal lens so low in the frame that it is hard to use. Both orders were filled quickly.
