Made an appointment and then was told I was there on the wrong day. After recognizing the mistake they said ok we fixed. The installer did not agree to the appointment that was set. Ended up renting a car to go out of town since they could not meet my appointment. 15 calls to schedule an appointment. When I call for an appointment I get hung up on or it takes 45 minutes.

Received a voicemail at 630 pm from Monitech stating that my appointment for tomorrow has been cancelled and that I need to call the 800 number to reschedule and I will be given an override code. I have been on hold for over an hour. Thanks for the short notice Monitech. Now I have 1 day to somehow get them on the phone before my unit is locked out. This company is HORRIBLE. Customer Service is without a doubt the WORST I have EVER experienced. You'd think all the money they make for false positives, monthly fees & service fees they'd be able to afford a better system that actually detects food, drink & smoke from alcohol & actually be able to hire enough employees to actually handle the number of customers they need to serve. The machine was improperly installed Per MODERN CHEVROLET and has brought on my engine light. I had scheduled a service appointment on a Friday and MONITECH didn't give the tech's a code until 4 days later which was not needed by then & not too mention while they had my truck in the garage they missed a running test now I have 3 days before the lockout. Of course, getting someone on the phone to handle this mix up is impossible. DONT USE THIS COMPANY IF YOU HAVE A CHOICE!!

We appreciate the feedback, and apologize for your negative experience when reaching out to our Customer Service Center. Please note that the ignition interlock device will register any trace of alcohol from any source containing it - this is how the device effectively ensures an impaired individual is not able to start a vehicle, and how we are able to confidently state the ignition interlock is fulfilling it's purpose. We advise in our training manuals, training videos, and in person when our clients install the device - to be mindful of testing right after eating, drinking, using mouthwash, etc., as doing this can potentially register a fail and will require the device to be reset. We recognize how important it is to do maintenance on your vehicle, and have a process in place that protects you with your state program. Monitech will contact your mechanic within 48 business hours of obtaining the required information from a certified mechanic performing the repairs, to provide assistance with the device. I got a recall 4043 said I had three days to get ahold of you and I have called three days in a row now first day was on hold for 4 hours second day set on the phone for 5 hours third day set only phone waiting for someone to answer for 8 hours and have gotten no answer now my system is in permanent lockout and can't make it to work thanks to your faulty device my next appointment isn't for another month I need someone to call me immediately at 8283422345 I am not happy and neither is my boss this better be resolved immediately

Untrained staff, incredible hold times and that awful recording! "thank you for your patience, our operators are non-existent and we haven't answered a call all day. We will be with you as quickly as we can" Device threatening lock out? The unit "serviced" two days ago and no one picking up on a 24hr/7 day a week customer service line? I smell rip off. Have someone from Monitech call me. Me, a true customer service professional with decades of experience. Never once did a machine keep me from customer satisfaction. Brian Barnhart 704-465-0271
