The ACH $2.49 fee ruins this company. Also very poor customer service with no response to issues. After using for 7 years will change to a software solution that doesn’t charge residents an ACH fee to pay their rent.

We opted to pay the $1/door for our tenants/HOA owners. AF took the fees from our account, but *also* charged the $2.49 fee to those paying by e-check. Further, I paid my company the management fees for my HOA clients, by echeck on 8/1. AF "sat" on the fees for One Week until they transferred the fees through their clearing house.

The classic bait and switch. They get the landlord/PM company to get all the tenants on the electronic system and then jack up the price. Terrible customer service!

I'm a property manager and I pay Appfolio well, in my opinion, for the services they provide. Until recently, their service was good and their fees were reasonable. That was until they decided to go from charging my tenants $0.00 for ACH payments, to $2.49. They did not give me reasonable notice for this most unreasonable change to their service. They claimed they gave me notice in May, when in fact I received one email about it. They purposely didn't send an email to my property manager or accountant, who are the only ones who even use Appfolio. We did a research project and found that according to the AFP (Association for Financial Professionals), the median cost for an ACH transfer cost was $0.26 and $0.50. Most companies and banks, however, charge $0.00 from what we could find. This company is robbing poor people, as far as I'm concerned. Terrible PR move and a slap in the face to customers and tenants. Shame on Appfolio.

the recent fee charges of $2.50 to receive a payment is ridiculous coming from an accounting app. what else is an accounting app for? This is a blatant attempt to generate a huge amount for the company,

A mean and greedy company if ever there was one. I am a retired and handicapped woman over 75 and live in a mobile home park and make payments to the property management company. Given that I cannot move around much I use the online portal to make ACH payments through my AppFolio account online. From this month on my lot rent of $225 the portal charged me $2.50 more than 1% of my lot rent. I had no choice in the matter. The park owner told me that it was APPFOLIO charging me not them and they also had no control over it. I am on a fixed income and handicapped but this company decided to punish even me.

Sure, they offered us landlords to pay 1.00 instead of our tenants paying 2.49, but we have to pay the dollar for every single unit on every single property we manage, whether the tenant pays by echeck or not! Us landlords are just as fed up with Appfolio as our tenants are!

Greedy company using landlords to squeeze $$ out of millions of tenants in the USA...just for paying their rent! Landlords get a bad enough rap as it is, now Appfolio is leveraging their clients' tenants to directly charge them $2.49 per online rent payment. This is a junk fee and Appfolio is taking it as straight profit. It's impossible to get in touch with anyone at the company as either a tenant OR a client. The fact that they are hiding from this and refusing to answer anyone's questions says it all. Shady company with no integrity, just greedy.
